The Underground Railroad is a series of photographs taken on specific
sites of the underground railroad and civil war. They explore site as
a conceptual and discursive field of multiple histories and
subjectivities, but use humor, intuitive gestures and sometimes
imagined evidence to question empirical facts. The images are meant to
juxtapose the language of traditional romantic landscape photography
with contemporary tableaux. The series is intended to sit at the
intersection of representation and belief.
